Joe and I went for a walk in the freezing wind.
The wind has blown over our glider and
rocking chair. Staying inside lately,
imagine the bundles upon bundles our
baby boy would have to endure if he got the
sniffles. Like the baby brother in
"A Christmas Story".
Right now my internet connection sucks.
More later.

Our baby boy is now 6 months old. Time flies when you are having fun.
Joe will finally get to meet most of his folks in South Carolina.
We go to S.C. next month for Joe's first visit to the Lowcountry,
where his Papa was born.
Joe can sit up pretty good. He can stand with help. He holds his own bottle,
since about 2 weeks ago. He says Mama since last week.
Joe eats 3 meals a day of solid food along with his leche,
he eats his Mama's homemade stew of squash, carrots and spinach.
He likes apples and pears so much his middle name aught to be .. it is
Perry. Joe Perry is a very happy and friendly baby . He really
likes flirting with women and he goes on a walk with his Papa at least one
mile everyday. His Mama reads to him everyday. He likes Dougie in
Disguise,in Espanol, Los disfraces de Dougie,on V- ME  TV.
Joe likes bouncing, balloons, and the outdoors.

Staying up past my bedtime.
I wait for my wife to come home.
She is working overtime at least
3 days every week. I am proud that
my wife has a job that is important and
vital to the community. She answers 911
calls. She is working because call takers are
needed.
The money will help us rebuild our house
I hope to have a clean orderly home
for our family soon. It takes time and money,
to fix this broken old house we live in.
It takes more than a hammer and nails,
to make a house a home.
This old  house is not our home , our family
makes our home.

My favorite thing to do these days.
I enjoy going places with my son.
He is soon 6 months old.
My wife and I have a full day
planned together on Monday.
The times my wife is at work it's
just me and our Little Champ.
Avoiding driving anywhere can be
a  downer. We have not started
our bus riding yet, soon...
Tonight we went out to pick up
a Freecycle gift of some really nice
clothes for the Champ. If you have not
heard of Freecycle.org you should
try it. A lot of great free things are given
away daily.
We then did some shopping at Central
Market. A store that features organic,
and bulk items. We find brands not
available at other stores.
This store is higher priced and sales
are few. This store is always busy.
The best bakery and produce, and without
a doubt the very best deli and restaurant.
When the weather is not winter, live music
 is featured on the patio.
Central Market is our favorite.
My son gets noticed and fussed over
everywhere we go. He is admired as to how
cute he is constantly. Joe has the biggest
smile that people really love. At night
I go in to check on him in his crib and often
he is smiling up at me as I look down on him,
thinking he is asleep.
Tomorrow we go to a class on organic gardening,
and a free showing of the film "Hairspray",
at the public library. It's great to be a dad.
My son now says Mama and he says it often.
Tonight I tried to get him to say Papa only
Mama comes out.
I look forward to the day we can chat about
our adventures together.

Walking with my son in his stroller,

we saw up close the slum our neighbor-

hood is becoming. Police were parked at

my neighbors. On looking closer we

could see the gang symbols and writing

in paint, on our neighbors handicap van.

They are aged  in their 80's and they have a

63 year old son with cerebral palsy. It's

a dirty shame how punks can trash up things.

In Fort Worth, we have a grafitti abatement

program that I use often. Anytime I see grafitti

I call and a team is sent out to investigate and

repaint. The grafitti artists will be arrested,

we do have less of a problem than I have seen in

other cities like L.A. Another thing I noticed

the trash that is strewn everywhere. The immigrant

families from Mexico, don't seem to care about

keeping their property clean.

One place to start is get all streetlights working.

I called and reported a streetlight out. Next I will

see why a local convenience store has a littered

parking lot. We have a large immigrant population

here in Cowtown.

There are no illegal humans and

there is no reason to wish to have undocumented

Mexican immigrants deported. I just want them

to get the message that others, here in Cowtown,

don't want our streets to be a ghetto. I will

be calling code enforcement tomorrow.

A walk down a shady street in a stroller,

should be a pleasant experience.

It would be better without looking at broken

glass in windows of houses and cars ,

gang symbols and grafitti along with

convenience store garbage everywhere.

Miserably cold and damp outside today.
I bundled up our little Champ for a walk.
He is happiest when he gets outside at
least once per day.
Despite the wintery weather,
I vow to walk our baby every day.
Just a little time spent to walk one mile.
It is a time well spent.

Long past the good old days of

"Go outside and play".

Just staying in with my little

family can be joyful. What does the

modern family do to occupy time.

The goddamn tv is almost always on.

I used to turn it off, when nobody was

watching. We do make it a rule to zoom

past any commercials, if watching a station,

that has commercials. You must have a DVR

Reading is fun. With a 5 month old,

most books are "eaten" and "drooled on.

It is the sweetest sight to see my wife reading

to our baby.

When not reading the best thing I can find

on tv is music. On Dish TV there are excellent

music chanels and many many by sirius satelite.

The second favorite is Freespeech TV. The only

source for truth on television. This is a secret,

that I am wanting to get out. So if you must

stay in pretend you have no electricity. My

favorite times are quiet family times.

In the continuing search for a pollution free
vehicle here is one to think about :

An emissions-free car that runs on air is poised for mass production.

Deadlock, traffic version [PIC] (reddiggulo.us)

The least favorite modern day task,
is to drive an automobile. As a baby
I sat and played hours on end with toy cars.
Imagining drives in the country and
building little villages with toy cars.
Now I do imagine a drive in the country,
because it doesn't happen anymore.
Americans are hooked on the polluting,
expensive, dirty cars and trucks.
We have public transportation in our
town, used mostly by low income, Blacks
and Mexicans.
My goal is to move away from the heat and humidity,
of the city life and move to the hills of Northern
California. Electric cars are making a comeback.

Todays Road Rage,
happened yesterday in SW Fort Worth about 12:30 pm.
I signaled to turn off a busy Hulen St. A motorist
in a large S.U.V. got really close behind and
seemed to want to drive right over my Nissan truck.
Most times I give an Italian- like gesture, brushing my
chin with my finger tips flicking upward.
I'd seen this gesture in gangster films I guess.
On this day I flipped "the bird". I had thought I
could not be seen clearly through my Texas tinted
windows. This large Suburban Utility Vehicle,
followed me into the Condo complex.
The man was about 50 to 60 and he did not
look violently angry, as he lowered his passenger
window he said to me in a Texas accent "you got
a problem with my driving?" I said "yea slow down"
He continued to express his displeasure with my
statement of opinion. I again said "Just slow down".
Anyway this got me thinking I should never do this.
In Texas people carry guns and road rage often turns
fatally violent. What if I had my little son with me.
Well I am learning to be patient and I guess,
I will just have to get rear-endend by a overly
caffienated Republican and I will just have
to keep a cool tool, for my lil Champ.

Happy New Year!

When does it stop, the greeting, I don't know,

maybe at least the entire month of January is

a "happy new year" . Here is a new years list.

of 50 things this writer has learned in 50 years.

One I have taken 51 years to learn.

My no. 51. Most people lie,

age, religion, politics, most subjects

are too taboo to be open and honest about.

Most of all I've learned that a lie repeated often

enough becomes accepted as a fact.

reddit.com: 50 things I've learned in 50 years, a partial list in ...

50 things I've learned in 50 years, a partial list in no particular order

I’m turning 50 next week. So I thought I’d take the opportunity here to list 50 things I’ve learned in 50 years—truths gleaned from experience and the words of others that guide, inspire and sometimes haunt me:

1. It’s better to sing off key than not to sing at all.

2. Promptness shows respect.

3. You can’t avoid offending people from time to time. When you don’t mean it, apologize. When you do mean it, accept the consequences.

4. The first person to use the expression “Get a life!” in any dispute is the loser.

5. The medium is not the message. Those who issue blanket condemnations of any form of communication—be it TV, tabloids, text messages or blogs—simply aren’t paying attention.

6. The most valuable thing to have is a good reputation, and it’s neither hard nor expensive to acquire one: Be fair. Be honest. Be trustworthy. Be generous. Respect others.

7. Prejudice and bigotry is hard-wired into us. You can’t overcome it until you acknowledge it.

8. Don’t be bothered when people don’t share your tastes in music, sports, literature, food and fashion. Be glad. You’d never get tickets to anything otherwise.

9. Cough syrup doesn’t work.

10. Empathy is the greatest virtue. From it, all virtues flow. Without it, all virtues are an act.

11. The Golden Rule is the greatest moral truth. If you don’t believe in it, at least try to fake it.

12. Keeping perspective is the greatest key to happiness. From a distance, even a bumpy road looks smooth.

13. You can’t win arguing with police officers or referees, but every so often you can fight City Hall.

14. It’s not “political correctness” that dictates that we try not to insult others’ beliefs and identities. It’s common decency.

15. It may not feel like it, but it’s good luck when you have people at home and at work who aren’t afraid to tell you when you’re wrong.

16. It’s 10 times easier to fall in love than to stay in love. And no matter what the sad songs say about romance, broken hearts do mend.

17. Don’t waste your breath proclaiming what’s really important to you. How you spend your time says it all.

18. Keeping an open mind is as big a challenge as you get older as keeping a consistent waistline.

19. It’s never a shame when you admit you don’t know something, and often a shame when you assume that you do.

20. Wounds heal faster under bandages than they do in the open air.

21. Fear of failure is a ticket to mediocrity. If you’re not failing from time to time, you’re not pushing yourself. And if you’re not pushing yourself, you’re coasting.

22. Anyone who judges you by the kind of car you drive or shoes you wear isn’t someone worth impressing.

23. Grudges are poison. The only antidote is to let them go.

24. If you’re in a conversation and you’re not asking questions, then it’s not a conversation, it’s a monologue.

25. In everyday life, most “talent” is simply hard work in disguise.

26. Great parents can have rotten kids and rotten parents can have great kids. But even though biology plays a huge role in destiny, that’s no excuse to give up or stop trying.

27. Four things that most people think are lame but really are a lot of fun: barn dancing, charades, volleyball and sing-alongs.

28. Two cheap, easy self-improvement projects: Develop a strong handshake and start smiling when you answer the phone.

29. When something that costs less than $200 breaks and it’s not under warranty and you can’t fix it yourself in half an hour, it’s almost certainly more cost-effective to throw it out.

30. Most folk remedies are nonsense, but zinc really does zap colds.

31. Physical attraction is nice, but shared values and a shared sense of humor are the real keys to lasting love.

32. To keep dental visits regular, schedule your next appointment on your way out from your last appointment.

33. The 10-minute jump start is the best way to get going on a big task you’ve been avoiding. Set a timer and begin, promising yourself that you’ll quit after 10 minutes and do something else. The momentum will carry you forward.

34. Laundry day is much easier when all your socks are the same and you don’t have to sort them.

35. Candor is overrated. It’s hard to unsay what you’ve said in anger and almost impossible to take back what you’ve written.

36. Goals that you keep to yourself are just castles on the beach. If you’re determined to achieve something, tell people about it and ask them to help you stick with it.

37. Mental illness is as real as diabetes, arthritis or any other disease, and no more disgraceful. It’s the stigma that’s disgraceful.

38. In crisis or conflict, always think and act strategically. Take time to figure out what the “winning” outcome is for you, then work toward it.

39. All the stuff you have lying around that you’ll never want, need, wear or look at again? It just makes it harder to find what you do want, need or intend to wear. File it, donate it or throw it out.

40. Exercise does not take time. Exercise creates time.

41. Almost no one stretches, flosses or gives compliments often enough.

42. It pays to keep handy a list that includes a trusted plumber, electrician, locksmith, appliance repair specialist and heating contractor. When you really need one is no time to start looking.

43. The store-brand jelly, cereal, paper goods, baking supplies and pharmacy products are good enough.

44. When you mess up, ’fess up. It’s the fastest way, if there is one, to forgiveness.

45. When you’re not the worst-dressed person at a social event, you have nothing to worry about.

46. Be truthful or be quiet. Lies are hard to keep track of.

47. Your education isn’t complete until you’ve learned to take a hint.

48. There’s a good reason to be secretive about your age. People tend to assume things when they know how old you are. “Oh, he’s turning 50,” they might say, for example, “probably full of cranky self-lacerating aphorisms that he thinks qualify as wisdom.”  (See "Bored, Tubby, Mild," an animated editorial cartoon along these lines)

49. Whatever your passion, pursue it as though your days were numbered. Because they are.

50. Readers love lists. You got to the bottom of this one, didn’t you?

Amend or append to this list in the thread below.  Highlights of reader addtions to my list are posted here)

Everyday I think about how life has changed now.

We have a baby boy that has made everything

better and the world seems brighter.

This past week a 911 call came in about an

abandoned child at a Chuckie Cheese restaurant.

Left behind and not missed for 3 days!

Every year you read about children left in a car,

with temps in the 100's. This is about a family

that neglected to care for and attend to small child.

Have you ever gone to a restaurant and left a child?

My wife works full time and

works 8 hours or more overtime,

every week. Our little Champ goes with

his mama and papa everywhere.

We don't trust any daycare center.

We have no relatives nearby and few

close friends that we would even consider

asking to babysit.

So today we volunteered to register antendees,

to the Fort Worth Pool and Spa Show Convention.

Our baby boy is the hit and center of attention.

With his bright blue eyes and smiling and laughing.

People just adore our son. We are so very proud of

our Joe. Today I took Joe to the Kroger grocery store.

A middle aged black lady admired how cute Joe was.

She stopped and looked and smiled, Joe just smiled and

laughed and she just loved it. I looked at her name badge,

I could see her name was Perry . I said my sons name

is Joe Perry. She told me "That's my husband!" her husband

has the same name as Joe., Joe Perry. So he has at least

one person in town with his first and middle name.

Tomorrow we all go to the convention center again,

for more pool and spa show as a family.

I sure am a proud Papa.

Our friend Siesta came to visit the Little Champ.
Joe just craves attention and the more the better.
Friend Jill came by also. Our Joe had two females
petting and cooing over him for 2 hours.
We are taking him for a day long Pool and Spa seminar
in the morning. People are asking us to bring Joe.
Got to sleep soon. Bedways is bestways righty right.

For this  evenings  entertainment.

We are watching the poll results.

It is clearly run by the Corporate media.

Obama and Clinton are clearly the

favorites for the Neo-Dems.

  From the beginning. McCain and

Nit Romney are the favorites on the right

wing side. The elections have been rigged

since 2000. We do not have a true democracy,

in the U.S.of A. So I will not comment that

much here. I will say there is evidence already

of a hacked election.. keep watching.

Winter hours begin Monday.

Working Monday and Tuesday, so I can

take off Wednesday through Saturday for

the Pool and Spa Service convention.

I'll consolidate all my customers into 2 days.

I will be working Wednesday and Thursdays.

We now are having 70 plus temps here

in N.E. Texas. The Little Champ is

eating 3 meals a day now in addition

to 6 , 7 ounce bottles of formula.

He is waking up after just half an hour

of nap. Joe still sleeps all through

the night. He will wake us up at 6 am.

New Years resolutions?

I make them, but I try not to say

what they are out loud.

If you are a smoker, for example,

just quit and see if anyone

notices.

New laws are in place here

in Cowtown banning smoking from

all public places and within 20 feet of

entrances and exits. Good, even when

I smoked, I hated a smokey restaurant.

One thing I am trying not to do is watch

t.v., of any kind. We have a ban on corporate

t.v. (abc, nbc, cbs, fox, cnn etc.). Most all

tv stations are owned by war profiteering

corporations. TV will make you ignorant.

Many Americans actually do not believe

in evolution and deny global warming. Many

Americans believe the occupations in Iraq and

Afganistan are in response to 9-11.

I could go on and on. The point is I am enjoy-

ing life like I had never in this way before. My

baby boy takes up most of my days now. He

does stare at "bad boys" ,COPS with me.

A new show Champ and I watched is "Speeders"

on Tru tv (formerly Court tv). It is fun to watch people

get busted. I do not like to see people break the

speed limit or run red lights. It does me good to see

people get pulled over for nearly causing death or

injury to me or my family. It is funny to hear the anger

people have when pulled over. Speeding in Cowtown

and traffic light running is rampant here in Fort Worth.

We are slowly adding cameras to busy intersections.

Many will argue that this is an invasion of privacy.

I say we need this, and the fines should be $300

or more. Do I speed? rarely. I am trying to go slower

in residential areas the speed limit is 20 to 35 mph.

Most over caffienated drivers buzz around among

the joggers, bicyclers, and baby carriages, at 40 to 50

mph! I shout out Slow down! I'm walking here!

Some people slam on brakes as if they want to get

out and punch me out ! I am hoping for fuel prices

to reach $6 or more per gallon. This may be the only

way to solve the traffic congestion and pollution.

Our baby really acted like a baby at the
IKEA in Frisco. I thought the little
fellow was like his Papa and hates
to shop and was getting really tired.
He fussed and fussed and than cried
very loudly at the restaurant.
I tried holding him up in the air
rocking him , trying to feed him.
He finally began to calm down after
"chewing" on the bill of my cap
my "Democracy Now" cap. I will not
go anywhere without my Democracy
Now cap in 2008, or at least until all
his teeth are in.
