Everyday, and almost every traffic

light, I observe a harried  motorist,

in a hurry, zoom through a traffic light.

Somethings got to give shoppers!

Leave the cell phone alone and stay,

stop, slow down, wait for the green

light. ~ MK

Smile for the camera

Fort Worth, considers cameras to catch motorists

who blow the red lights.

Star-Telegram

The traffic light turns green, and you head through the intersection.

You suddenly glimpse a big, blurry, fast-moving object to your left. Then it happens before you can react.

Wham! It's a jolt like you've never felt before.

You've just been walloped by a red light runner whose desire to save 60 seconds eclipsed any concern for your safety.

You could wind up dead or seriously injured in such a situation. Or, if you're more fortunate, you might be left with only minor injuries, a badly damaged vehicle, frayed nerves and extreme anger toward the irresponsible motorist who clobbered you.

Each year in the United States, nearly 200,000 people are injured and more than 900 die in crashes that involve red light running, according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

This past weekend my friend Siesta,

came to visit. I should say she really

just came to nap , sleep, or have a

long "siesta". While her thumb-sucking

12 year old "baby" watched cartoons, I

was busy with my chores and running

errands.

Siesta awoke from the "nap" and went

to Wal-mart. If I had known she had

intended to go there ,to do anything ,

other than protest or shop-lift, I would

have stopped her. She lost $60 there,

or a dishonest underpaid emoloyee,

cheated her. It could be her spoiled ,

obese, 21st century tv brat, took the money.

Just back from the Democracyfest '05

One thing I got out of it was people

are pissed off and tired of the Bullshit

we are handed by the media.

One solution by Google from this

article from Guardian Unlimited | The Guardian :

What does the truth look like? Google, the company last week confirmed as the biggest media firm on the planet, rather hopes that it reads something like this: WO 2005/029368.

That's the number of one of several patents filed in the US recently by the Californian internet giant. According to that patent,

Google is for the first time planning to rank news stories according to their accuracy and reliability

as well as their topicality.

The Outrage of the 21st century is going

1994 O.J. Simpson is accused of killing ex-wife Nicole, and Ron Goldman

Nicole Brown Simpson, famous football player O.J. Simpson's ex-wife, and her friend Ron Goldman are brutally stabbed to death outside Nicole's home in Brentwood, California, in what quickly becomes one of the most highly publicized trials of the century. With overwhelming evidence against him, including a prior record of domestic violence towards Brown, O.J. Simpson became the chief suspect.

Although he had agreed to turn himself in, Simpson escaped with friend A.C. Cowlings in his white Ford Bronco on June 17. He was carrying his passport, a disguise, and $10,000 in cash. Simpson's car was spotted that afternoon, but he refused to surrender immediately. Threatening to kill himself, he led police in a low-speed chase through the freeways of Los Angeles as the entire nation watched on television. Eventually, Simpson gave himself up at his home in Brentwood.

STOP Wal-Mart

10 Good Reasons to Not Shop at Wal-Mart

I urge all  to boycott Wal-Mart stores. Here's 10 good reasons why:

  1. Wal-Mart is notoriously anti-union. Even though it's illegal, Wal-Mart fires and harrasses workers who want a union.
  2. Wal-Mart has been found guilty of forcing thousands of workers to work off the clock and not paying them overtime.
  3. Wal-Mart discriminates against women. Although 2/3 of Wal-Mart's workers are women, only 1/3 are supervisors, according to a lawsuit filed on behalf of workers.
  4. Wal-Mart doesn't give workers adequate health care coverage. About 2/3 of all Wal-Mart employees can't afford it because they're paid too little.
  5. Wal-Mart was caught using illegal immigrants to clean its stores.
  6. Wal-Mart hurts union workers by forcing them to compete with poverty level wages and lousy benefits.
  7. Wal-Mart destroys communities by putting small businesses, the lifeblood of local economies, out of business. For every 2 jobs Wal-Mart creates, 3 get destroyed.
  8. Wal-Mart sells products made by exploited workers and children in third world countries.
  9. Wal-Mart has become the "cultural gatekeeper" of America by refusing to sell products they deem "offensive."
  10. Wal-Mart has been caught over 75 times destroying, altering, and hiding evidence in lawsuits brought against it.

So please do yourself and your community a favor: Don't shop at Wal-Mart!

In early 2005, Wal-Mart launched a million-dollar advertising campaign in an attempt to silence its critics. The company bought hundreds of television ads, newspaper ads, and more to tell you what to think.

Rather than fight back with more slick advertising and giant ad budgets, we think there’s a better way to get the real facts out about Wal-Mart— a grassroots way that depends on you for success. Invite your friends to view the facts about Wal-Mart, then see who accepted your invitations on an animated map that tracks your fact sheet as it spreads across the country.

Broadcast TV really sucks, I have a friend

Rosa staying on my couch until her new

house is ready. She says she watches

"Dr. Phil" every night before going to sleep.

I watched it enough to see

that Dr. Phil, is a Dr. Full, as in full of crap.

This "Dr." who is obese advises people on

weight loss. Next he'll be giving hair

loss advise

We Americans have a coporate media that

is owned by  5_Families. All right wing

neo-cons that control what we watch.

There was a time when broadcast TV

was pretty creative and entertaining.

Watching an old episode of All in the Family

recently, I realized that the song Archie and

Edith always sang is coming true.

"Mr. we could use a man like Herbert

Hoover again" "Didn't need a welfare state"

Bush is worse than Hoover and is fast

doing away with programs that aid the poor.

Lyrics for: Those Were The Days (Theme to All In The Family)

Short Version (Aired at beginning of episodes)
"Boy the way Glen Miller played, songs that made the hit parade, guys like us we had it made, those were the days, and you know where you were then, girls were girls and men were men, mister we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again, didn't need no welfare states everybody pulled his weight, gee our old Lasalle ran great, those were the days!"

Full Version
"Boy, the way Glen Miller played. Songs that made the Hit Parade. Guys like us, we had it made. Those were the days! Didn't need no welfare state. Everybody pulled his weight Gee, our old LaSalle (a car) ran great. Those were the days! And you knew where you were then! Girls were girls and men were men. Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again. People seemed to be content. Fifty dollars paid the rent. Freaks were in a circus tent. Those were the days! Take a little Sunday spin, go to watch the Dodgers win. Have yourself a dandy day that cost you under a fin (five dollar bill). Hair was short and skirts were long. Kate Smith really sold a song. I don't know just what went wrong! Those Were the Days!"

I just can't say enough of how much,

the sound of a ringing cell phone annoys

me. The various tones and alarm and songs.

A very rude interuption, that is what a cell

phone call is.

I went to my Democracy For America

meetup and a very irate

pool customer kept calling me. I had told

this property manager of a condo  complex,

that I would try to have someone at his pool,

to vacuum out a large broken vase.

This has to be a thorough job. I don't want

to just rush through and later be held liable,

for an injury due to broken glass.

My friend and assistant Siesta could not make

it, She was just calling me at 6pm as she was

just waking up, she could not make it.

I had not gotten a pool cleaner to agree to

come out until the following late afternoon.

He and many others don't see that an

 emergency clean-up can't take place

instantly. This ass has said he was going

to quit service, if a man was not at his

pool first thing in the a.m.

Another lost customer it seems. Ce la vie.

I am checking with the health department.
