Could this really happen?

We're not draining any pools in NE Texas right now.

This Will Drain My Account!

http://dailyconfession.com/display.asp?CID=62409

My neighbor and I prank each other as way of expressing our purely platonic affection for one another. Our schemes have become rather elaborate in the past.

For three months now, it's been my ''up''. He got me last and knew I was going to get him back.

He left for vacation five days ago. I completely drained his pool. Bone dry.

I was going to paint (as best I could) a naked Mona Lisa on the bottom and refill the pool.

I don't own a pool and had no idea that in Florida, with a very shallow water table, if you drain a pool, it could actually pop up from the hole in which it was built.

I confess that this is one prank that will cost me. His pool is literally two feet higher that the surrounding deck that it broke away from. I have started getting bids and there is no fixing it. It has to be removed ($$$) and a new one built in its place ($$$$$$$!!!!!)

The pool company said that if the pool had sustained a broken drain pipe while the owner was away for an extended time, it is possible that:

A] It could happen

B] It might be covered by insurance.

I just can''t wait for him to get home!

It would have been the best prank ever if not for this little snafu.

A Tall Drink of Water
Following your meals with a glass of ice water may help boost calorie burning.

In a small study, men and women who drank about 17 ounces of cold water after a meal temporarily experienced a 30 percent increase in the rate at which their bodies burned calories. The increased calorie burning was attributed to thermogenesis, a process by which the body burns calories for digestion purposes.

common goals and have fun together, with complete

trust and honesty. It's got to come from your heart

if you want it to work.

Keeping It Real
Having realistic relationship expectations could help make you and your partner's bond stronger.

Although positive expectations can help a relationship flourish, according to research, high expectations lead to relationship dissatisfaction in some situations. Create expectations that are realistic by acknowledging strengths and weaknesses in each person's relationship skills.

Homegrown Tomatoes by Guy Clark

Ain't nothin' in the world that I like better
Than bacon & lettuce & homegrown tomatoes
Up in the mornin' out in the garden

Get you a ripe one don't get a hard one
Plant `em in the spring eat `em in the summer
All winter with out `em's a culinary bummer
I forget all about the sweatin' & diggin'
Everytime I go out & pick me a big one

Homegrown tomatoes homegrown tomatoes
What'd life be without homegrown tomatoes
Only two things that money can't buy
That's true love & homegrown tomatoes

You can go out to eat & that's for sure
But it's nothin' a homegrown tomato won't cure
Put `em in a salad, put `em in a stew
You can make your very own tomato juice
Eat `em with egss, eat `em with gravy
Eat `em with beans, pinto or navy
Put `em on the site put `em in the middle
Put a homegrown tomato on a hotcake griddle

If I's to change this life I lead
I'd be Johnny Tomato Seed
`Cause I know what this country needs
Homegrown tomatoes in every yard you see
When I die don't bury me
In a box in a cemetary
Out in the garden would be much better
I could be pushin' up homegrown tomatoes

I am getting that old time feeling, cooking out. I love to barbeque a chicken with pecan wood from my large branches I cut from my trees.

I thought of how wasteful we Americans have become as I struck 10 Ohio Blue Tip matches, to get my fire started. You have to be patient

and start a fire slow. A nice old black lady from Lubbock inspired me to cook out. She called me to look at her pool, which will have to be drained and power

washed. She had the most impressive grill I have seen in a while .Probably 300 pounds of iron, New Braunfels style with the fire box off to the side.

I am getting into living off my little piece of land here. Recycling, composting. How often do I see things discarded on the side of the road, everyday.

I salvaged a large composting bin today, just needs wheels and a lid.

My friend Bill just told me of a new lawn mower, and a weed-eater , found in a trash pile. The nice old lady inspired me as I admired her beautiful shrubbery ,

and garden. She showed me her hand scissors, is all that she uses to trim with. I thought how lazy and noisy and in a rush we have become with the 4 man crews

mowing and blowing our lawns. I am going to try to take time and step back and appreciate what is available in my own yard. Back to my smoked chicken-Adios MK

Today is the official first day of summer!

The heat is on in Texas, I will be leaving each day to service pools by 7 am, to avoid the heat and humidity.

I am happy to have Suzette back working with me again. We've always worked well together.

I am optimistic, looking forward to a fun and successful summer in the swimming pool business.

Remember Dad today it's Fathers Day!

I remember Dad would cook for us ,

Usually pizzas or pancakes, or special

concoctions usually with hot peppers.

We learned to experiment with cooking.

Dad would make obstacle courses,

in the backyard for us, We had high

jumps, barrels to roll, a tireswing.

We learned to play, and exercise

Dad would stretch us out on the

kitchen counter to wash our hair,

In the kitchen sink, We always

played hard and got really dirty.

We learned to bathe every night.

My 3 sisters and I always were

glad when Dad came home.

Remember Dad, and remember

to register to vote!

Outrage

How can anybody be so stupid?

To believe O.J. is not guilty

I was new here in Texas

10 years ago today, O.J.

Simpson, nearly cut his ex-wife's head

off, killing her and her male friend

Simpson, is living well and happily in Florida today.

I read the newspapers followed the trial, I read "Outrage"

Vincent Bugliosi
... If you only have time to read one book on the criminal trial of OJ Simpson, I would
recommend without hesitation, Vincent Bugliosi’s Outrage.”

Outrage : The Five Reasons Why OJ Simpson Got Away With Murder

I knew many seemingly intelligent  people, both white and black believed O.J. innocent. It was a lonely time

for me to have opposing views with most of the people I knew.

Rain rain rain. We have got it here in N.E.

Texas Last Tuesdays storm was the worst

outages in TXU history. Thousands powerless

I am still cleaning up after the storms of last

week, and more than 6 inches of rain in some

areas. This causes green, dirty pools. I get

complaint calls, "my pool is green!!"

about the dirty pool from the weather

I cannot clean a pool without power, a pump

and filter must be running 10 to 24 hours

24 hours for commercial pools is required.

Maybe all the rain will help prevent a hot dry

summer.

June 1st the unofficial start of summer!

I got pulled by the PO-LICE!

I kept thinking as I handed over my

license and insurance. What did I do?

I wasn't speeding. I never do.

I was not drunk , or even drinking,

I had not smoked any left handed cigarettes,

or been in the company of under age women.

What did I do wrong? Nothing, the punk at

the Inspection station , must have called to

say I had an expired inspection. They wanted

to charge me twice for a failed inspection!

I had my truck inpected and my check

engine light bulb installed at another station.

First time ever pulled for nothing. Have a good summer!
