A new report by the American Lung Association also ranks Tarrant County among the worst counties in the nation for ground-level ozone.

Texas region has 10th-worst ozone in U.S.

What is to blame? The pollution from cars and trucks, one person per vehicle on average.

very little car pooling in the metro-plex, and those goddamn lawn mowers and blowers and trimmers.

What did people do in 1850? Homes had neatly manicured "dirt" yards, surrounded by well maintained azaleas and rose gardens . Who knows when this grass lawn thing started?

Visit the 1850's at Westville Georgia's Working 1850 Town. Westville is a living history museum which depicts an 1850 west Georgia village. Please see their calendar of events for further information.

Today is Arbor Day . Today is a good day to fire your gardner and yard crew!

More and more , I see these gas guzzling smoking, noisy machines, as many as

a crew of five Mexicans, mowing and blowing and trimming, on small 1/3 acre

lots. This is an outrageous intrusion. The noise level is deafening.

What did people do 40 years ago? Mow themselves? Cancel your gym

membership, get some excersize. Trim your trees, plant your garden yourself.

I am going to work on cleaning up the pollution, and noise in my neighborhood.

Smokin' Pot in the 2000's .I have never met a pot-head that wasn't highly addicted, they have to smoke many times daily.True, I have never seen someone get violently angry, or even upset It is natures cure for all that ails. I love a pot-head, they will never lose their cool. Pot smokers are always very interesting and imaginative.Marijuana is still very much, illegal in most states. I am against anything that makes me cough. I have smoked it, mostly back in my 2 pack a day ciggy days, the hacking and coughing mostly negated any "high". I am for legalizing it. I don't like the fact that you buy a baggy from a "dude" , he may have a cadaver in his trunk, from a drug deal that went sour. I am against methamphetamines, and cocaine and most prescription and legal drugs. The laws need to be changed on marijuana. Read:

Albertsons starts self-scan shoppingThe Metroplex is the second market in the country to get Shop 'n Scan technology. Albertsons says the scanners give shoppers more choices; the manufacturer says they help cut costs.
The full article will be available on the Web for a limited time:

http://www.dfw.com/mld/dfw/business/8310677.htm

Shoppers, look for fewer sales clerks at your Albertson's grocery store. The newest and latest cost cutting for the grocery business is "scan your own" groceries. I tried it , I think I could get used to it. I am often unsure which item is the sale item. Stores no longer ticket each item showing the price. I often have to discover, I have selected the wrong item, instead of the sale item. Another thing this 10 for $10 is good and often is a great buy. Except when you buy , say 10 catons of tomatoes. They will go bad before they get eaten. I bought 20 bags of top soil and compost, thinking, I had to buy lots of 10. When you scan your own groceries, you will see you pay $1 for each item. More tricks and deception. Next big shopping day is May Day coming up !

"J' Lo aints gots nuttin' on us, chile"

Read a wierd story about fat girls:

from News of the Weird 845, by Chuck Shepherd, April 18, 2004

* A 2003 British documentary, "Fat Girls and Feeders," debuting on Australian TV in April 2004, profiled an Arizona couple, "Gina"
(once one of the world's largest women) and her husband "Mark" (who has a sensual or psychological desire that she be ever-larger).
Because Gina is apparently comfortable with her role, Mark is merely an "enabler" in the "fat administration" subculture, but more
dominant men are called "feeders," who may even "grow" their partners by pouring liquid fat down their throats. Gina once
weighed 825 lbs. (with a 92-inch waist) but had settled down at around 400. The filmmaker's point is said to be that objectifying
fat women is only somewhat more offensive than objectifying thin ones.

Does anyone remember "Ted Macks Amatuer Hour", A show on tv in the

50's and 60's, featured alot of bad musical guests, sponsored by "Geratol"

"for iron poor, tired blood" Ted Mack would hold up this brown bottle of

a vitamin tonic, between guests. I remember people playing accordians

and ukulele's, all praised and thanked by Ted. Something like today's

AMERICAN IDOL, Without Simon. Many more of you will remember

The Gong Show about bad musical, and comedy acts , that were so bad

they were hilarious, for example "the unknown comic". One of the earliest

shows to review musical recordings was Classic TV Shows - Dick Clark's American Bandstand,

A really well liked record was given high ratings by at least 2 teens. When

Dick Clark asked "why did you like this record", the answer was almost always,

"its got a good beat, and it's easy to dance to". That's all that is really important,

$29.99, That is the average price of what people are willing to gamble on , or risk being a waste of money. Since I have been on the internet , I am seeing more and more crap and bullshit . Amazing the amount of bogus "free" stuff ,porn , spam and virus, worms etc. to clog up the works.

I wonder if anything is ever
FREE !

FREE , would have to be followed by " this is no bullshit!"

I am a member of the BBB , Better Business Bureau, I am looking into
BBBOnLine, Inc. -- Promoting Trust and Confidence on the Internet .I am getting extreme amounts of porn and spam from an ex employee downloading games and "free" stuff. I figure most employees, and bloggers, are most probably goofing off at work. I have checked history, cookies etc. I found most employees that I have had, had the time to download nude pictures, chat lines, instant message and ebay, play games, eat,and baby-sit their kids, all for a very good salary paid by me. No more "employees", no more unsupervised work. No more free stuff, no more automatically renewed memberships.

The new way to do business in these times is to trick and deceive,

Not me! Not at Watersprite Pools, or Askpoolboy.com or any other business of mine, we do not use the $99.99 trick, oh yes it works and has been used in retail and in business forever it seems, but any trickery or deception is a way to steal from and fool shoppers, I am sick of it. I am sick of any time my bank card is used it is getting charged to re-new and duplicate charges are being made. How many times have you been over-charged at the auto shop? the grocers? One has to scutinize each purchace, read and understand everything! the internet is worse! The deception and piracy is outrageous!

Ro and Mo are just getting into gardening . I was really feeling good about my planting some tomatoes and peppers. I planted a Bougainvilla, that I hope will climb my fence. I planted some potted plants that I had for 10 years. Then the last one did'nt get planted yet ,was a huge Yucca. Some thieving bastards came in the middle of the night and stold my plants and 2 Boston ferns. I hate thieves. It seems that plant lovers and lovers of nature would not steal. Maybe their is a black market for potted ferns. Oh well taken again. Step back and regroup.I will have to investigate and learn more Spanish, to find out if anyone knows anything.

I now have a sign on my front door in Spanish, it says "Do not knock on door unless you are expected."  I have seen Clockwork Orange. I am not interested in hearing about The Jehovas Witnesses. I don't want to purchase anything sold door to door. I will keep an eye out, in my neighborhood. I'm joining my neighborhood crime watch. I complain alot about traffic and crowds. This is a popular

destination, and a fast growing population and economy.

I don't think I would have been as easily able to have

a successful business in my native Charleston, S.C. , or

Savannah, Ga. , where I moved here from in 1994.

I have alot of ambitious goals and plans for my small

business. The pool business, is beginning to boom now.

It gets hotter than hell here. Everyone has a swimming

pool ,or wants one here. Just fly over DFW airport, look

down at all the pools in all the backyards below. With

alot dedication and smarts we'll make it here. Mo and Ro

One step forward, two steps back. That is me , everyday I step in it, (dog dukie), sometimes twice. This morning, I stepped in mud , spent 30 minutes cleaning my boots. Who-ever goes barefooted in their home , probably has the daily news delivered on the porch. Not here, I called The Fort Worth Star Telegram, and was told, I had to be elderly or disabled to receive special treatment. I remember my first morning paper route, the papers had to be delivered to many, inside in the foyer, and a bell rung to announce delivery. I still have nightmares 30 years later, trying to collect. Tips, forget about it, they were practically non exsistant.

Cold cold here in Old Cowtown , I am wearing long drawers for the first time in a while. Wind chills in the 30's, I have to go and clean pools in this weather. That is my job of work. I would like it better, if I could get paid . I've got to stop the nightmares about not getting paid.

Suspense, great looking nude women, Charlotte Rampling, and Ludivine Sagnier . A beautiful film in France in mostly English with some sub-titles. We don't get really good films here in the U.S.A., theaters don't show independent and foreign films. This thrilling movie, never has a dull moment. lots of surprises. Today in History: 1994 Smoking banned in Pentagon & all US military bases.

I remember just about everywhere you went in public, people smoked, It did'nt bother me because I smoked close to 2 packs of fags a day myself. My dad said that he began smoking when he was in the U.S. Airforce, breaks were for smokers. He started smoking in order to get a break. The saying was "smoke 'em if you got 'em" Dad no longer smokes, I quit over 7 years ago. I wonder how many smokers are there, that once held a ciggy to look cool, now have to hold a small microphone to a hole in their throat to rasp out a few words. I coughed and hacked, since I was about 16, believing I looked "adult" and suave like Bogart, and John Wayne. Both among many, who died a miserable death from lung cancer. I see many movies, that have alot of smoking, I think it encourages youngsters to do the same, it did for me.

I never quit because I did not want a constant craving.I did stop smoking, I never did have cravings, I am healthy and I rarely cough, ride my bike and do the work, that would exhuast many 20 year olds. You can quit! It is easier than you think. Don't smoke!

Lost in Translation, See it! ***~3 star rating by Mo

"The more you know who you are and what you want, the less you let things upset you".- Bob Harris (Bill Murray, LIT)

It is race week here in Old Cowtown. Big deal. Front pages, all the news shows thousands flocking to the Texas Motor Speedway, blocking interstate travel.. The latest, closest finish ever 0.028 SECONDS . I don't go to sporting events, and I dread crowds and hate noise. Some people like crowds, and heavy alkehol, pot and drug consumption, mixed with sweat , and noise. It sounds like a nightmare to me.I went to a NASCAR race once. The beer buzz was o.k., but the noise unbearable. The best part was seeing the wrecks. It's pretty bad to get pleasure from watching disaster. That's why people slow down to look at every roadside wreck. The desire to see real life drama and blood.

I stayed home and rode my bike, got plants and topsoil to plant this week. I saw on HBO, Good Girl, The (2002) A very good movie, Jennifer Aniston, is just too good looking, to be believable as a plain clerk at a retail store, married to a worthless pot-head painter. Very realistic film to me, these characters I have known in my life. The other film I saw was Lost in Translation (2003) Perfect movie for a rainy afternoon, Bill Murray is the best.Tokyo,fascinating. Scarlett Johansson, beautiful, I love those pink panties, (thongs should be flushed) . Not, a typical Hollywood love story . Funny, I laughed when "Bob" got stuck on the "treadmill". I want to keep this, to see again soon. Ro let's see it again. - Mo Kellogs

Now coming to internet: Music Choice to offer downloads   I love it, next I want satellite radio. I never want to hear a screaming car commercial again!, or ads for home re-finance , ads of any kind are sickening.- MO Kellogs

I prefer email as a method of communication. I hear the phone ring,I cringe, hoping that it is Ro, or mom, or my sisters,or someone I would like to talk to.I don't know why people want to shout, and get upset, about a pool, I don't want to hear shouting, "a party this weekend, my pool is green"! I have heard this a thousand times. People get the invitations sent the flowers, the catering, but they neglected the pool.We have 12 hours to get the pool clear!

Remember the days before answering machines, or caller I.D.? I once had a 3rd floor apartment, I used to race to answer the phone , then too late, they hung up!

We are working hard to have a question and answer forum, about pool related questions."askpoolboy.com" I get calls at 8 and 9 pm, my bedtime. In most cases calls after 9pm are usually something that I don't need to worry about that late at night. I signed up for the do-not call list. It does helps control, unsolicited phone calls.I do continue to get calls from charities, since it is allowed under the do not call law. Email is something I have been able to mostly control. I have one email address for news groups, one for business, one for Ebay and auctions, other email addresses for personal email. I read email in 2 accounts twice daily.

This idea by Google could work,I just wonder how intrusive this may be. I have one email account, that has so much spam, or Bulk mail, I have no idea, if any of it is legit.

A way to Google search mail. , I'll keep an eye on this. Read about new email service:

E-Mail Ads Raise Fears Over Privacy
Search engine Google Inc. announced Thursday that it is launching a free, Web-based e-mail service that will hold far more mail than rival services but...

April 1, Is usually is the day for pulling pranks, and cruel jokes, that are often not funny, just foolish. I believe the day was thought by many as the first day of the new year , because of differing calenders in ancient times.April Fool's Day—Origin and History I have found some interesting things on this day in more recent history.

Today and all month it is National Garden Month. We'll get our crops in soon.

1960 , The first U.S. weather satellite, TIROS-1, was launched from Cape Canaveral.

1970, President Nixon signed a bill into law banning cigarette ads from radio and television.

I remember all those ads on t.v. "I'd rather fight than switch" , "you've come a long way baby"

The Marlboro theme was my favorite, the theme from "the magnificent seven". the ad had

horses , wide open plains , a cowboy, Advertising Age - The Advertising Century

"The Marlboro Man" (dead from lung cancer),

NPR : The Marlboro Man, Present at the Creation

the music alone made me want to smoke. I did for years upon years, finally quit in 1997.

See the new ads from Kool , that targets hip hop generation. believe me, this stuff works!

Cigarettes' ads target black teens, critics say

Lyrics - Smoke, Smoke, Smoke That Cigarette
Written by Merle Travis and Tex Williams.

Now I'ma feller with a heart of gold And the ways of ...

compare to hiphop versions by Tha Dogg Pound - Smoke lyrics

and Juicy J - Smoke Dat Weed Lyrics
